Why Do Septic Tanks need Septic Aerators?

In general, the purpose of an aeration system is to pump air into the septic tank which encourages the development of aerobic bacteria. Aerobic bacteria need air in order to survive. The purpose of aerobic bacteria is to clean up the fluid in the septic tank and it will also clear the way of the leach field includes the cleaning the bio-mat which has formed over the years.

Why should we use septic aerator?

It is mainly recommended to install an aerobic system if you don’t have much space for the construction of drainage system or if your soil is not suitable for septic drainage. With the help of aeration process, high quality effluent can be provided. And you can also consider this aerobic system if you are near to water resources that provide drinking water. You can able to use the aerobic discharge in order to flush for irrigation or toilets.

The way it Works

This system mainly uses a blower system or air compressor system to in order to force air into the tank here it mixes with wastewater and solids in the tank. Septic tank aeration and oxygen in the air sustain the microorganisms which digest the waste. Here all the unprocessed solids will settle at the bottom of the tank in the form of sludge or else it will flow through the chamber from where it returns to the main tank eventually. And also, some of the systems use a pretreatment chamber in order to separate solids such as grease that blocks the unit.

Septic Tank Without septic aerator

The septic tank is a square tank or round cylinder which has the only single chamber. In order to break down, the waste water the septic tank utilizes the naturally occurring anaerobic wastewater. It is named as anaerobic because septic pump decomposes wastage without oxygen. Before commencing into the septic tank, the same anaerobic bacteria will work in your digestive system.

The septic tank anaerobic process thoroughly breaks down the sewage through the process of hydrolysis that leads to fermentation which results in carbon dioxide, hydrogen and acetic acid. This gives you bad smell similar to rotten egg smell.

In case if all he harmless gases is gone off, then the result must be clean water in generally the anaerobic water discharge is full of undigested particles which include acetic acid, ammonia etc.

Conclusion

The main advantage with the septic aerator is to give a 90% of clean water while other septic tanks of only 60% of clean water discharge. So it is a very useful and powerful outcome. So it is beneficial to all commercial and residential septic tanks to use along with the aeration systems.
